Day 1. (Friday) Bilbao - Espinosa de Los Monteros
Luggage drop-off at 2 pm in Bilbao’s La Concordia Station. Reception opens at 3 pm, followed by settling in while the train sets off for Espinosa de Los Monteros. Coach trip to tour the City of Frías and the Tobera waterfalls. Dinner and overnight stay in Espinosa de los Monteros.
Day 2. (Saturday) Espinosa de Los Monteros – Cistierna
After our first breakfast on board, we explore the Romanesque art of Palencia, along the Camino de Santiago route; Carrión de los Condes, Frómista, and the Castilla Channel. In the afternoon, after lunch, tour of the Roman Villa La Olmeda. Dinner and overnight stay in Cistierna.
Day 3. (Sunday) Cistierna - León
While having breakfast, we travel to San Feliz. From there, coach trip to visit the city of León: Old Town, Cathedral and San Isidoro. Lunch and end of the itinerary at the Hotel Real Colegiata of San Isidoro at around 4 pm.
Payment Methods
Transfer or credit card. To make a firm reservation, 15% of the total amount of the reservation will be required, the rest 31 days before the departure of the trip.
Cancellation and Changes
1. Cancellations
The client may cancel the services requested at any time, making the appropriate cancellation in writing (within the opening hours of our offices) and will be entitled to a refund of the amounts paid, with the exception of 15% of the total cost of the trip as compensation.
The cancellation penalty will be applied from the moment the booking is made. The percentage to be applied, always on the PVP in force, will be increased depending on the date of cancellation with respect to the date of commencement of the trip, as follows (in addition to 15%):
Cancellation between 30 and 15 days: 25%.
Cancellation between 14 and 5 days: 50%.
Cancellation between 4 and 1 day: 80%.
Cancellation less than 24 hours before or no-show on the day of departure: 100%.
Changes
All changes must be communicated in writing (within our office opening hours).
a) Changes to the date of travel
Changes are allowed free of charge, if communicated more than 120 days in advance.
Communicated between 120 and 31 days in advance: 15% compensation.
Changes to the date of travel are not permitted less than 31 days before the departure date of the trip.
b) Changes in the identity of passengers:
Changes to the identity of one of the two passengers travelling in a double room are permitted up to 5 days before the departure date of the trip.
No changes in the identity of the two passengers travelling in a double room or of the passenger travelling in a single room are permitted. Such changes will be considered Cancellations.
The train
The cosy classic décor of El Expreso de La Robla invites you to relax and enjoy the pleasure of the journey, both in its bunk compartments and in its comfortable lounge cars.
The entire train is connected internally, facilitating the free passage of passengers.
Standard room
Compartment with two bunk beds and a complete bathroom, where every centimetre is used to the maximum to enjoy all the comforts.
It has two bunk beds (0.70 x 1.80 m. each), wardrobe, reading light, adjustable air-conditioning and its own bathroom with hydro-massage shower, washbasin, toilet and hairdryer.
Lounge cars
The three lounge cars of El Expreso de La Robla are the common areas in which daily life takes place.
Breakfast buffet is served here and you can spend your free time reading the daily press, magazines or a book from our library. There is also a TV and video library. The bar car is open from early in the morning until early in the morning.
Life on board
Travelling on El Expreso de la Robla is like travelling on a modern tourist train, which was born in 2009 in the image of vintage trains, with all the modern comforts at an affordable price.
A train with three lounge cars where life goes on during the day on the routes it travels, bar car, restaurant car and lounge. Every morning buffet breakfasts are served in them, as well as the occasional dinner or lunch. Although normally, to make the most of the visits, lunch and dinner are served with typical gastronomy in the towns visited (including water, wine, soft drinks and coffee).
The visits are always guided and include all entrance fees and visits. A coach always accompanies the train to take the group to the visits and restaurants along the route.
The train also has 4 sleeping carriages. Each compartment has two bunk beds, wardrobe, reading light, air conditioning, public address system, telephone, etc... in a modern and youthful atmosphere. Each compartment has its own bathroom with hydro-massage shower, washbasin, toilet and hairdryer. Electricity is 220 v.
During the day, when we will be making our visits, we recommend comfortable clothing and footwear. To facilitate rest, once the day is over, the train remains stationary overnight, allowing the customer to move around freely.
The entirecrew of El expreso de La Robla is at your disposal twenty-four hours a day, trained to offer personalised attention in several languages. The team is led by an Expedition Leader, who will take the reins of this rail cruise, guaranteeing the highest quality service on and off the train.

Luggage drop-off at 12:00 pm in Leon’s Hotel Real Colegiata de San Isidoro. After lunch, we travel to San Feliz, where the train is waiting. Welcome and settling in before travelling to Matallana. Visit the gorges of Vegacervera and Valporquero Cave. Dinner and overnight stay in Cistierna.
Day 2. (Saturday) Cistierna - Espinosa de Los Monteros
After our first breakfast on board, we visit the Roman Villa La Olmeda. Then the Romanesque art of Palencia, dotted along the Saint Jame´s Way; Saldaña, Carrión de los Condes, Frómista, and the Castilla Channel. Lunch. We will travel by train to Espinosa de los Monteros for a tour, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 3. (Sunday) Espinosa de los Monteros - Bilbao
While having breakfast, we travel to Bilbao. Tour of the city and Guggenheim Museum. End of the itinerary at around 2 pm in Bilbao’s Train Station.

Day 1. (Wednesday) Oviedo - Viveiro
Baggage check-in from 2 pm. to 3 pm. on the 1st floor of the Renfe station (Counter-FEVE). 16:30 pm guided tour of Oviedo. Welcome on board and dinner, while the train heads for Galicia.
Day 2. (Thursday) Viveiro (stage Ferrol - Pontedeume)
Early arrival in Viveiro. We start the morning as every day enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet. After breakfast, transfer to Ferrol by coach for the pilgrims who wish to walk the first stage; Ferrol – Pontedeume (26 Km.). For those who do not want to walk, coach ride to the northernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula, the Estaca de Bares cape, later visiting the Beach of Bares and O Barqueiro, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to the train. Pick up of the walkers in Pontedeume to return to Viveiro. Free time for dinner and night on board in Viveiro.
Día 3. (Friday) Viveiro - Ortigueira (stage Pontedeume - Abegondo)
As we have breakfast, the train travels to Ortigueira. From here, the pilgrims travel by coach to Pontedeume, to start their second stage to Abegondo (31 Km). Others make a tour to the Sanctuary of San Andrés de Teixido in Cedeira, with free time for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to the train and the pickup of the walkers in Abegondo to return to Ortigueira. Free time for dinner and night in Ortigueira.
Day 4. (Saturday) Ortigueira - Ferrol (stage Abegondo - A Calle)
While having breakfast, the train travels to Ferrol, then the coach will carry the pilgrims to the starting point of the third stage: Abegondo - A Calle (25 Km). The rest of the guests will go to A Coruña on the coach where we spend the morning and have lunch. In the afternoon, return to the train in Ferrol. Dinner together at a typical Pulpería. Overnight in Ferrol.
Day 5. (Sunday) Ferrol – Santiago – Oviedo (stage A Calle - Santiago)
After breakfast on board, transfer of the pilgrims by coach to A Calle, the beginning of the final stage to Santiago de Compostela (27 Km.). Once in Santiago you have free time until the afternoon. The rest of the guests travel by coach from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostela. Free time in Santiago. By late afternoon, everyone returns to the train in Ferrol. While enjoying dinner on board, the train travel towards Oviedo. Overnight on board while moving.
Day 6. (Monday) Oviedo
Early arrival of the train in Oviedo. Breakfast on board and farewell to the crew and the train, ending the journey around 11.00 am.
